Keep a seasonal garden record

Give each bed a simple name or number and draw its outline. Record what you plant, where it goes and the date. Keep seed packets or labels together so you can refer back to the original variety information.

Once a week, add a short note about growth, weather and any changes you make. Photographs taken from the same position can show differences that are easy to miss day to day.

At the end of a season, write down what you would repeat and what you want to investigate. Avoid changing everything at once. A modest record of your own garden is more useful than a complicated chart that does not reflect what happened.
